Ball gown style 50

Ball Gown Burst onto any scene with elegance in a ball gown style evening dress. The ball gown is one of the most well-known prom dress styles and the one you usually see on the bride figurine gracing the wedding cake. Think Cinderella or fairy princess with absolutely no limits on the colors, embellishments or glory the ball gown can bring!

The silhouette of the ball gown features a body-hugging bodice with a long, flowing skirt, perfect if you have a toned upper body that you want to show off. It’s also perfect for hiding any heaviness on the lower body, thanks to the long and luxurious skirt.

The skirt typically skims the floor and is super-full of both flounce and layers, like the jaw-dropping ball gown by prom dress designer Clarisse. Clarisse puts extra pizzazz in the skirt with a rainbow of shimmering tulle that includes purple, orange and gold, lined with a contrasting green.

Ball gown bodices are often strapless, adding to the princess charm, and hug the body like a glove. A sweetheart neckline is popular with the style, as are bodices beaming with beading, sequins or other embellishments. The waist usually hugs the frame, often with a color-coordinated satin sash, or can be cut on a diagonal so it dips delicately into the skirt, disappearing in a swirl of fanciful tulle.

The ball gown is definitely a dress for the traditionalist, although the many styles, colors and flair in today’s ball gowns give many of them a modern twist
